The information system of the Poison Information Centre of the Health Board
The information system of the Poison Information Centre of the Health Board helps to abandon the outdated technological solution and enables to provide faster counselling services, analyse poisoning cases and engage in prevention work through the new platform.
Current situation
The functionality of the current system was developed in the late 1990s and does not meet today's needs. The existing solution runs on an outdated platform and lacks developmental support, making the provision of consulting services time-consuming and slow to use. The platform is not user friendly.
Goal
The goal of the project is to replace the outdated technological solution and create a new information system of the Poison Information Centre, where, in accordance with the objectives of the Health Board, a database is kept on toxins, the instructions for the treatment of poisonings, including antidote treatment and on the calls about poisonings. In addition, the created environment should enable to find out the behaviour that led to the accident in each case - this would provide good input for prevention planning. The additional goal of the project is to create the technical capacity for the statistics and analysis of poisonings.
